Diesel Technology

At Oklahoma Technical College, you can learn the skills you need to become a mechanic servicing everything from big rigs to buses, industrial machines to bulldozers.

We offer hands-on training, backed with classroom learning to help you master the skills you need to start a career in this in-demand field. Day and evening courses are available, so you can train around your current schedule in as little as eight months.

For those seeking a more advanced educational path, we also offer the opportunity to pursue a Diesel Technology Associate of Occupational Science (AOS) degree. This degree not only provides you with an enhanced level of expertise but also furnishes you with a competitive advantage in the job market. With an AOS degree, you'll be better positioned for entrepreneurship opportunities and leadership roles within the industry, empowering you to excel in your career journey.

Learn the Diesel Tech Skills You Need

In this program, you’ll learn to work on diesel engines of all sizes. In addition to being qualified to apply for ASE certification upon graduation, you should have mastered diagnosis, maintenance and repair of:

According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the employment of all diesel service technicians is projected to grow by 4% through 2031. Over the next decade, it is projected that there will be an average of about 28,500 job openings for diesel technicians every year across the country.1

We also offer a 9-month Automotive Technology training program. You’ll learn the essentials to get started as an auto mechanic, from diagnosing electrical issues to repairing fuel lines, troubleshooting emissions systems to maintaining drive trains.

General Tools

Oklahoma Technical College is only 1 of 6 ACCSC schools to win $1,000 in General Tools and make available for our students in classrooms and labs. Being a private non-profit (501(c)(3)) vocational college, contributions like this enable OTC to make use of General Tools in our facilities without incurring additional expenses for replacing tools that are lost or damaged by our students. This helps us decrease operational costs and, in turn, allows us to provide cost savings to our students.
